I feel like I am no longer fun at college.  I have officially become to busy and since it is cold out, i dont want to go out.  I have events every night and when the weekends come I am so tired that all i want is pizza and a movie.  weird!  i used to dread staying in but now i just pray that no one will ask me out.  i feel so bad saying no that i just do it.  this is a loser rant but im bored with MLK day we didnt have school so i worked at three jobs and now i really dont want to do homework but i dont want to go out.  that is my thought process.  maybe i will go to the gym and dance.  that is always fun plus its a good workout.

New thought:  I  am super excited about figure skating nationals next weekend.  i have tickets to all four finals!  I havent watched good skating in such a long time.  I am looking forward to the mens competition which in theory should be dynamite.  I hope that a quad is landed, i havent see one since the 200 nationals with the famous Timothy Geobale (spelling?).  Happy early birthday sisters!!!  Oh J where do you want me to mail your present?  aka mom is mailing it and i want to make sure it gets there.

The summer is almost over and i am torn between ready to see it go and wanting it to stay.  the summer jobs were boring to say the least but i learned more about what i wanted to do and how i should go about doing it.  i def think museum and people are in my future digging holes in a cornfield is out!  i also want to do something where poeple around me arent b#$*ing all day long.  whatever happens i dont want to date a 30 year old that lives at home, doesnt own a car and doesnt know how to keep a budget.  oh yea and yells at his girlfriend on her b-day.  that isnt cool.

things i have learned from this summer-
1. smoking can make you sick
2.hot tubs are the best invention ever
3. you can live on pasta and carrots
4. making chili is awesome cause you can eat it for a week straight
5. live where you can walk places since gas to too $$$
6. never depend on roomates to buy toliet paper
7. never depend on roommates for company
8. make your own fun then call others to join
9. you can go out to often
10. groups larger then 5 should never go out together
11. men who go to bars to "hook up" are always sketchy even if you meet them outside bars
12. older men are great because they pay for food
13. take a minute out of every day to be outside even if it is raining.
14. the library is one of the most interesting places in the world
15. there are always free things to do
16. if you are bored you arent trying hard enough
17. dont leave the dishes for too long because they back up quickly
18. if you dont have money you cant spend your parents lol
19.  the strange things in cities (reniasance fairs, civil war reenactments) are the coolest things to do even if it makes you feel better about being "normal"
20. kayaking is awesome

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING I LEARNED THIS SUMMER  is that i can live away from my parents.

so i have learned that while to alot of people 4 jobs is alot it barely pays the bills.  let me tell you why before you jump on my back for spending to much.

1. ice skating was cancelled for the july 4th week and weekend and does not start again till next monday and while i have bills to be handed out 4 of my students have left for china (they are chinese) so the $100 they owe me i will not recieve until the end of August.

2.My job with the history professor doesnt not pay me until the end of the summer.  which i did know before the summer so wasnt plannig on the cash but when you read 3 you will understand why this money has become more important.

3.  My archeology job has cancelled friday but one since i have started which has left me working only one day a week there. that is 8 hours i am not being paid each week that i should be working.  He cancelled today and all next week!!  I have even suggested to my boss that i switch days to days that he has enought people to go out to the field but for some reason he doesnt really tell me anything.

so instead of earing the $1000 a month i had planned on at the begining of the summer i am about $600 please notice the 40% decrease.  about $35 a week goes towards food so that is $140 a month, $150-$200 goes towards gas depending on skating scheldule, $80 goes to utilities and $10 goes to unkeep of house and dish soap, toliet paper and all that fun stuff.  so if we add up all the necessary spending almost $400 is gone.  and yes i do realize that i have $200 to play with but after going out to eat, buying birthday presents, and to my chagrin a drink or too I am out of money save $50 or so which is less then the 10% i wanted to save from the summer.  That is not including what i need to pay sororities dues over $500 and other school social events.  so basically i have decided to get a 5th job.  one that i would not normally go for but in the bar that keala works there is a smoke shop and i am applying to work there fridays when not working in archeology, tues and thursday nights when i am not teaching skating.  there isnt a whole lot to do so i could read a book or sew or whatever i want plus it will give me the extra 2%  i need to reach my goal for the summer.  i hope i get it.

other then that my life here is fun.  i read alot mostly boring history book that i like.  my personal favorite was about the whisky rebellion that beks gave me for my birthday.  i also am going to festivals and the beach when it is nice.  i just got a library card so maybe i will spend more time looking for books.  today since i dont have an hourly job i will go and work on the history professor assignment and then workout maybe if the day turns better a trip to the beach.  good thing a friend is coming in this weekend to entertain me.

so i litterally shift dirt and dig holes for one of my jobs so i have alot of alone time to think.  which is both good and bad.  One i really want to work inside wehere i dont worry about a sunburn all day long even though i put on sun screen and have a hat on.  i also dont like that in 8 hours of work i find one little chip.  not cool yes this is my first artifact which inof itself is cool but ahhhh so boring.  i would much rather be working with documents at least i can see the handwriting and imagine a really person working.  at least there are so mosquitoes or prickers in the corn field.

this weekend the house mate is going to cleveland to visit (odd that she is going to my home without me but whatever).  which means that i will basically be alone but never fear i have planned tooo many thinks to do including baseball game, dance club, beach, taste of ROC, church, kayaking, and if all else fails i have to mow the lawn.  please read that as learn how to use a lawn mower. lol

Vacation was surprizingly cold while i was there but i survived.  still fed the turtles and walked on the beach.  all in all very relaxing and a good time.

the olympic trials were last weekend so i watched those alittle to long but might i say that the gymnists look amazing this year.  i watched two days of it so i feel like i should go to the gym.  which i am proud to say i did yesterday.  i danced for a good 2 hours and laid on the floor in pain for another one.  i am attempted to do freezes in hiphop but right now they are more like flops.  my knees are nicely bruised.

I am thinking about taking up Karate.  there is a gym near me and my work scheldual has changed so i have every mon, tues, and weds afternoon off so i need something new to fill my time.  Kayaking isnt open on mon or tues so it should be very interesting.  i am thinking about stretching my work with the professor over two days so my eyes dont start to bleed.  it actually is prob the most exiting work i am doing this summer.  boo but it is really interesting and may use the information later on.

I have started looking at grad schools...scary.  i am still thinking about taking a year off to work and save some cash.  but i have to start thinking about the GRE and application due dates.  i dont know whether i want to apply this year and delay it or apply next year I may do both and see what happens.

I am trying to think of other things that have happened to me or things i have done lately but i would say i have no idea.  i go out to the bars alot but i seem to always be the d-d so i dont drink (nice for the wallet not me) oh and my roommate always asks me to drive which i find strange because it is her friends that come over every weekend to drink.  shouldnt she be responsible for them???  i understand if i volunteer to d-d instead of taking a cab but to movies, bowling, and out to dinner i think a little much.  she has only driven once when i was stuck behind her car in the driveway.  other then that tho roommates have been cool.  house is somewhat clean and i keep busy by not cleaning it- always a good plan.
